William A Kerr Foundation

William A. Kerr Foundation

21 O’Fallon Street, St. Louis, MO 63102
at the corner of Lewis St. and O’Fallon St.

The Kerr Foundation building is a masterpiece of green urban rehab.  Hearding Cats admires the foundation’s commitment  to innovation and their pioneering spirit. The remarkable features of this building are well documentated at: William A. Kerr Foundation.

It is on the extreme northeast end of Laclede’s Landing at the corner of Lewis and O’Fallon streets. The local landmarks are Lumiere Place and Al’s Restaurant, both are a bit to the south. When driving to the Kerr, keep in mind that some streets in this area are not well-marked with street-signs.

It is is largely hidden from the Landing by several larger vacant buildings, and there is no large visible sign on the building itself that says ‘Kerr Foundation”  In the photo above, the entrance is near the light gray car parked on O’Fallon st.

NOTE!

due to construction on the Arch grounds redevelopment. Memorial drive is partially closed  so accessing Laclede’s Landing, especially from the south, is more complicated. If you are driving to the Kerr for the first time, please allow extra time for travel. We have added detailed directions from  both northbound and southbound interstates, or from downtown, below the map at the bottom of this page.

(Please refer to the large map below)

The best way to find it is to enter Laclede’s Landing by any route familiar to you (via Cole, Carr, Biddle ,1st, or 3rd streets) then get as close to the river as possible and turn north (left). Remember, Leonor K. Sullivan Blvd becomes Lewis Street as you drive north. When the street changes names from ‘Sullivan’ to ‘Lewis’, watch on the left for the corner of Lewis & O’Fallon. The Kerr Foundation is right on the corner. There is ample free parking on the streets. The Entrance faces O’Fallon street.

Laclede’s Landing, Kerr Foundation is at Upper Right

Keep in mind that very slow moving trains can cut-off traffic in Laclede’s Landing  for long periods. One way to avoid the trains is to enter the landing from Soulard(!) This will take you through a lot of the new riverfront development, which , even under construction, is very attractive

-take Chouteau st. east all the way to the river.

-turn left on Leonor K Sullivan and follow it all the way north to O’Fallon st.
